Hi everyone. My headaches/migraines started in March. At first it seemed more like a sinus/allergy issue. So off for testing I go.....nothing. Back to GP who prescribed Astelin and ordered a CT. CT came back normal. Next stop, ENT. He determined my GERD wasn't causing the problem (that's good) and wanted me to give Imitrex (sp?) a try - but I can't take it because I have untreated high cholesterol. I cannot take statins. So he orders an MRI and prescribes 25mg Elavil - hoping to calm nerve endings. Had strange reaction...they told me to stop taking it. He also prescribes another nasal spray to alternate with the Astelin. ENT refers me to Neuro. MRI (with and without contrast - I was there forever!) comes back normal. Neuro put me on 300mg B2/dy and orders 10mg Elavil.
Been on B2 since October and just started the Elavil a few days ago. Neuro doesn't know what's causing the problems, but feels the headaches are causing the sinus issues, not the other way around.
So I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on where I should go from here. Do I hang out and see if the Elavil will work (takes 6 weeks), try a different doc or just get used to having headaches/migraines and sinus 24/7?
