My GP has diagonised me as having stress and anxiety after lots of tests including upper and lower GI investigations are proved thankfully normal and put me on midication and councelling. I am stressed with life job/home etc but not to the point that makes me ill or so I thought.

My symptoms are as follows, Which I will get for a week or so then they will settle down.

Mild aching chest pain, pin and needles in hands, general muscle aches, tender spots on elbows and wrists, electric type shocks sort of pain (but not always, just now and again). Little bit of dizziness and shortness of breath which seems to come and go.

Anyone have any of the above?.

Thanks

Anxiety/stress can be at the root of so many things you would be amazed. On the flipside anxiety can also be blamed for things that doc's can't figure out, I don't see why from the symptoms you listed your doc would have ordered an upper and lower GI- for muscle and joint pain/the jolt feeling you mentioned??? Were any other tests, like CT, X-rays, done?

I do get weird feelings like that but I'm diabetic and the shock like feelings are usually in my feet/knees/ankles, and up my legs.

Hi Becca, thanks for your reply.

Originally they thought I was suffering from acid refulx hence the upper GI and the lower GI was done because I had some stomach problems which they have put down to IBS.

I have thought for 8 months that I had reflux and was taking Nexium only now to be told they think it is stress etc. The medication is helping. The funny thing is I dont really feel stressed although I have a stressful job.

Once again thanks for your note and I hope you feel better soon.
