View Full Version : Anxiety is fixed -- is this me?

Hi all,

Last week, I took lexapro 10 mg on Monday and Tuesday. I wasn't feeling well at all, and my doctor stopped me. Then, I found out my doctor had missed a test which was quite important (and which was CAUSING my anxiety), so I went to another doctor on Wednesday and she said "Oh man, we need to look into these numbers." I INSTANTLY felt relief.

Last Thursday and Friday, I followed up with my new doctor, and she makes me feel REALLY good. I have relaxed, my pulse has come down, I'm not sweating as much as I have been the past couple weeks. Please note that my supposed "anxiety problem" that I had has only gone on since October, and was provoked by me finding out some bad health news in the hospital.

So anyway, this past weekend, yesterday, and today... I really feel like myself. I don't feel like I'm stressing, and I'm trusting the doctors, and enjoying when they call me to update me on their investigation. I trust my new doctor and know that if she comes back and says "You're OK", I will believe it.

My question is this: Is this "me" doing this? Or did the two days of Lexapro last Monday and Tuesday somehow change me to be more relaxed? I doubt that two days of medicine, especially a week later, could have this much of an impact? I'm more willing to attribute my more relaxed nature to my new doctor, who now means the world to me.

Can anyone comment?

Thanks :)

-Matt

more than likely its you. I didnt start feeling lexapro until about 6 days into the dose... but it wasnt my fix. I just recently started cymbalta and i felt slight improvement within the first few days... Been on it for a little over a week and im taking baby steps to getting back to where i used to be.
