Hi Joy,
school is going well. i finished my first clinical a few weeks ago. It was hard with the dizziness but i made it through it. My last final for this semester is this week, then i get about 3 weeks off which is nice. How is school going for you?

Glad to hear things are going well. Congrats on finishing your first clinical! that's great! I am just about to get done with my first full time clinical experience. I learned a lot but it was a struggle. School is very different from the "real world of PT". patients are never as straightforward as in school tests. But it was a great experience and I can't wait for when I actually feel confident in this stuff and can help patients. Thankfully my ears have behaved over the last two months. Hopefully they will stay that way.

Hang in there, and get some rest over your vacation!
Joy

Joy,
I totally agree with you. Being in the clinic is so much different then what is done in school, but it is the best way to learn. I got stressed out a lot because it is really hard to get the hang of how things are run, how patients react and what to do about it, etc. But I loved it and i learned a lot as well. Hope things keep going well for you and keep letting me know how things are going!!:)

Hi Tiff (Joy hope you don't mind me chiming in here.)

I was just wondering if you had nausea with your condition before you took med that you are currently weaning off? I was also wondering if you've noticed a spike in this symptom coming off the med?

Just curious and trying to compare your experience with my current reduction from klonopin.

Thanks for any info. - Gloria

Hi Gloria,

Yes, I had nausea nearly every single night before i started taking anything. Not so bad during the day, but every night I felt so sick. I guess it was just being dizzy all day and it finally just made me sick by the time 8 o'clock came around. Less and less nausea as the lightheaded feeling started to get better though, which for me wasnt until about 9 months into being dizzy 24/7.
And about the weaning off - I had a terrible time at first. All of my original symptoms came back and i felt so terrible, including the return of the nausea, but i refused to not reduce what i was taking. Every time i reduce it, i feel bad for about a week and a half, then i slowly start to feel a little better. Cant wait until i dont take anything anymore!

p.s. how bout those Penguins! The playoffs are looking good for us. Ive been to only one game so far this year because ive been so busy! I had a little trouble though, because our seats were behind the glass and sometimes the glass would look blurry to me and i got soooo dizzy by the 3rd period! Hope u have been able to go to a few games!

Hi Tiff,

Wow...seems to be the same pattern for me with this junk and the meds; even the 9th month improvement comment. I too keep pushing myself to come off the klonopin. I'm almost there, except my neuroto wanted to up it again slightly, but I'm not doing it for various reasons. I want to see how I am off it and I don't want to be dependent on it forever. Beside, I'm not so sure if it has really done much for me. I do think my physical headaches are even better coming off it. I wish I could clear up the weird feeling in my head and totally rid the dizzy crap....."sigh" maybe I just need to give it more time.

Strange, about your seats at the Arena. My husband switched ours and now we sit up against the glass in the Igloo Club area. I've passed on quite a few games as the seats are so close and my eyes don't seem to track the puck and then I just feel sick by the time the game is over. It is really loud that close too. On top of it, I'm terrified of being hit on the head with the puck and causing more damage inside my head (I know, I'm perinoid now). Yes, it is nice to watch a good team again, but am now worried about the future of the Pens now that the Plans for the new areana were shut down. By the way, our family business does the attendence announcement at the games. Also check out our funny ad in the program with the old time players with missing teeth. It is a hoot!

Well, take care.....Have a nice holiday. - Gloria
