I have tried the injections as well. The key for me was to find my own correct dosage. By the way you write your dosage may be too high. Boston Medical started me out at 20 units of a 1CC needle. I have brought myself down to 14 or 15. This way the erection decreases faster, but not as hard or painful either. I found this out by dropping two units each time. There were several times when I was at 20 units and I should have gone into ER....the erection lasted way too long. I was also told by Boston Medical that if you want to decrease the erection in a semi-emergency situation (need to go out with friends...etc). Take some psuedofed (60mg) at first and then it will help decrease the erection. However I didn't like the advice as with having high blood pressure and to be taking pseudofed just doesn't work with me. I have found the injection to be the most reliable and effective. 43 people have gone permanently blind with Viagra. The longer I used Viagra, the more ineffective it became. I have been doing the injections for about a year now. Sure it takes some real guts to do the injection, I have a beer right next to me to hit on right after I remove the needle...just something cold to go down and get my wits about me. I sure do hate needles and certainly hate to inject in the penis, but the results are worth it. I don't know how many times I count to 4, before I really push the trigger and shoot myself. But it is the best system I have had yet. Hope this helps!

Hey Bassclef:
I've been using the bi-mix injections for about a year now (now 19 months post-op) and have had pretty good results.
You do get used to the needle (well, almost) but injecting yourself in that part of the body always carries some anxiety about it.
It sounds to me like you started out at a very substantial dosage and went down. Most people start at way less and build themselves up until they get the satisfactory results in terms of time and firmness.
i use 22 units (measured on the small-guage syringes i get with the medicine) and get about 80% firm, but overall it's not as large and long as it was pre-op. I also have a new 'curvature' to the right which is something new and I'm told is from all the nerves that were cut during the surgery.
I'm told that neosynephrine nasal spray is a good alternative to the Sudafed. But I would talk to your doctor about this.
Also there is a hand-out sheet which my ED doctor gave to me to take to the ER in case of priapism. It details all the things that can be done PRIOR to having to putting a rather large-guage needle into the corpus to drain the blood. (Always a nasty affair).
Good luck

Ask the doc for a prescription for Tri-Mix #5. It comes in a 10cc vial.
You only need .1cc to .2cc per injection. Use a 31ga 1/2" needle on a .3cc syringe. No pain, no sore spot, & no lumps. It can be taken 10 to 30 minutes before needed.
It cost about $90 delivered in an ice pack. Very inexpensive per dose, less than a $dollar. I keep mine frozen until needed. Thaws in less than 5 minutes in the palm of the hand.

I have been using injections for about 3 years. I am on the 2nd level which is Tri-Max 3. It stopped working for me. I have an appt with dr on 3/12. Could I be missing the right area on the penis or have anyone used stronger doses.
