Does anyone know why there is a black spot on the toe nail ? There is no other black spots or white spots just this one black spot on the toe nail. And it is towards the middle it is on the toe nail or under the toe nail ? And putting water on it will do nothing.
Also I should say it is on the left big toenail.And should I try to remove the toenail?
And could this have any thing to do with the cold weather it seems other people are having problems with their toenail.

Is it an actual round spot, or is it a small black line?

Okay it looks round and it not that big and it is NOT getting bigger .

I should also say it has bean like this for 3 weeks and I don't remember injuring it at all.

I have the same thing, only I dropped a hoover on it and I'm assuming it's a little bruise, of sorts.
If it's not painful, and it's not getting bigger, I don't see what the big deal is. Should you remove your nail? Good Lord, no!
Maybe you bumped it on something without really realising, or somebody stepped on it. I imagine you could've bruised it just by wearing tight shoes or running in shoes that perhaps weren't very comfortable.

Well it is going to be going on 4 weeks soon .I just don't know if it is a infection or bruise or some thing else but you would think it would be gone by now.

It takes months for your big toe nail to grow out. It just sounds like a bruise. If it's not hurting, I'd just keep an eye on it and make sure it grows out. If not, then go to a podiatrist.
