Sponsor abster82 12-15-2006, 02:00 AM How long have you been taking it? For the first few days sometimes there is that 'Euphoric, everything is wonderful' feeling, and that goes away after your body gets used to the medicine. But if you're concentration, and focus is still better, then it is still working. I had the same problem. thought it had stopped working because I wasn't really happy, but when I looked closer my focus was still much better. Hope this helps. index.html 12-15-2006, 04:02 AM How long have you been taking it? New2ADD 12-19-2006, 12:54 PM The 'honeymoon' period ends then it takes time for your body to adjust to the meds. Ideally, when the med is correctly working at the appropriate dosage level you really shouldn't notice or feel anything. The goal of the meds are to give you enough of a nudge to be 'normal'. I think some people get the impression that when you take you meds you should be running around like a speed-freak (which is a sign of way too high dosage). What I've noticed about being on meds for 5 months now is that they really don't do anything for the ADD so-to-speak. What they do help me with is giving me a choice about things to do and how to do them. I can take my meds and choose to do something like work on projects, organize my office, focus on something etc.. Without the meds my life was running in a downward spiral because I wasn't able to do anything without getting side-tracked, distracted, zoning out. For me the meds allow me to function as a normal adult but they don't make me do anything. J |
