I'm really interested in hearing from Topomax users as well. My doc is thinking of switching me over from Tegretol.

Thanks!

Thankfully, I am no longer on Topamax. From what I hear, it can be a "miracle drug" for some, but unfortunately, I was not one of them.

Tingling and bad taste of soda are anoining side effects that should go away with time. I took up to 400mg of topamax and you can take 600mg safely. One bad side effect I am aware of is how it affects you mentally. I felt like I was in a fog. I would get lost going places I had been to 100x before. Couldn't remember nothing syndrom set in quickly. I had to quit taking it because of the way it was mentally affecting me. Some people loose weight on the drug but that is usually at 200mg or higher.

i'm loving it now- seizures have decreased totally, taking 200 mg twice a day for 400 mg total now. still taking dilantin 300mg twice a day with 800mg loading when needed. i'm tingly alot and a little slower on the draw as far as speech is concerned but thought process is ok, memory so so (no better than before no worse than before) muscle fatigue alot worse than before but seizures are WAY LESS and that in itself makes this worth it.
