I think your video EEG was in the month of February. Just wondering if things went ok for you. Hope they got the info they needed and found a good medication to put you on.....

Hope they got the info they needed and found a good medication to put you on..... sekharp 02-26-2003, 01:34 PM Hello. I was just discharged on Feb. 22. Not much happened. The doctor forgot to order my Paxil. So I spent most of Thursday afternoon and evening throwing up. Needless to say, that didn't help. Although it did sleep-deprive me. When I woke up after a couple hours of sleep, I noticed that my heart rate had the monitor going crazy -- a fast beat and a strange rhythm. I asked the desk folks about it and they said there were EEG and EKG changes. Others I asked weren't so sure. So we will see. We didn't get anything really beyond an eye-blinking episode that even I didn't think was a seizure. I was stopped cold turkey on my medicine (both Dilantin and Keppra). I also have to get hooked up for a 72-hour ambulatory EEG starting March 3. And on Monday night I had another seizure out of the hospital. It must have been pretty bad because my lower back is killing me and I was really, really sore all day and really tired. My doctor said to push on with the transition to Keppra. So as soon as I find out anything I will let you know. It's possible that I may have to go back for another video-EEG stint for Phase I because I didn't have enough seizures. ... Thanks. I forgot to add that the California DMV has suspended my license until a hearing is completed. ... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif Of course, I told the insurance company for my vehicle and they reduced my coverage considering that the car won't be going anywhere. ------------------ All of us has an angel, if only we know where to look. Sounds like you did your part to add stressors like throwing up all night! That must have been rough with all those leads glued on! Any chance the cardiac response is causing the seizures? I have read something about that. What a discouraging time it must have been. SO sorry, I have been thinking and praying for you. We know what it is like to leave with no further info gathered, and expecting to do it again sometime. Hang in there. Hopefully the ambulatory will pick up what they need. Hoping the Keppra will start to help. Figures you had one after it was all done. Sam has had 20 clear cut seizures since his, 42 counting all the simple partials that doctors do not like to count. We see the neuro the 28th to see what is next for him... Hang in there, sorry about the driving, hope it is just very temporary.... |
