I was put on keppra 3 months ago after finding out that I had a bad reation to the tegretol that I was taking. After about of a week of taking the kepprs.I was so depressed and I had such a sense of hoplessness that I could have got to the point of suicide and the funny thing is,Ive always been a happy person.I coulndt stand how I felt so I went to the emergency room and the dr there said that I was having side effects and that suicide was one of them.He gave me this stuff called lorazapan and in half a hour I felt like myself again.they are picky on how they distribute this to you because they say that its addictive.I really dont care because without it I wont live long enough to care anyhow. Not everyone has these side effect but some do. Im still on it but am much better becuse of the lorazapan. My nuero gave me a presciption for paxil and I just threw it away because that stuff is poison and lorazapan is made for people with epilepsy

I have been on Keppra for about 4 months...Prior to Keppra I was on Zonagram (which was terrible for me)
Overall I feel Keppra is working for me....I have maybe 1 seisure per month (for about 30seconds) I can live with that....I do not take any other medication...I did feel little depressed few weeks ago, but its seems to better now...It is important not to immediately contribute negative feelings to medication....Living with epilepsy can be difficult, but it does not need to be.....One of the most difficult things I had to adjust to was not being able to drive...although I hope to drive soon...I hope you will have a positive experience with Keppra, however keep in mind that if you don't, there is medication that will agree with you....The most important think is not get give up...What works for one person may not work for another....Stay positive and do not settle for treatment that does not agree with you...Good Luck
