Hi - I wish I knew how so many of you keep these so short.

My mom was diagnosed on October 31, 2006. Ended up in ER next day. After reviewing case sceduled for surgery on Friday, November 3, 2006. After 7 hour debulking surgery doctor advised that the Cancer was Stage IV and had met. Surgery was extensive and she had problem after problem. Clots in Lungs, fluid build up but after almost three weeks brought her home. Ended up in hospital 2 weeks later with fluid build up again. They decided to keep her and try to give 1st chemo after removing fluid from abdomen and around the lung. Three days later came home. She has been home now for two weeks.

The unfortunate part to this is everything happened sooooo fast that no one including my mom had time to process anything. We kind of just went thru the motions and only now are able to start dealing with all of this.

She had small reactions to the first chemo treatment, but all in all I felt like it went OK. Scheduled for her next Dec 21, 2006. Hopefully that will go as well.

She is not able to be on a clinical trials. The original prognosis was approximately three years. I don't really know what that means???

I just wish we could get her mental status to the point that her physical status is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Hopefully things will work out. I just do not want my mom to be in any pain.
