I have been having a problem with consistant gas. This started 2 years ago when I was living with/dating this guy who had the same problem, never had these probelms before him... is it possible that he passed something to me. what could it be?

There are many things that cause gas in excess from swallowing air to various types of foods like the sugars in fruit (fructose), dairy products (lactose) and some vegitables. Chewing gum, eating candy or mints that you suck on causing you to swallow more air!!

I don't think it was transmitted but it could be inherited from your parents.

You could do a search about -- Controlling Intestinal Gas-- or just -- Intestinal Gas---

There is alot of in depth links available about too much gas--- I read in a Mayo Clinic research report that said each person produces from 1 to 3 pints of gas daily and a person passes gas 14 to 23 times daily. I guess that is normal.

But, as you know it can happen at not the best of times as well as be embarassing.
