Hello. Tomorrow I start upping my dose of Keppra to 1,500 mgs a day, and dropping my Dilantin to 100 mg a day. I already feel alternately depressed and irritable -- like I am really weird over stupid things. I also am incredibly tired. I know these are normal symptoms but they aren't any fun either. I have very good seizure control on Keppra, so I am reluctant to change to, say, Zonegran or Lamictal. The thing is, I don't want my side effects to get worse as I increase the dose. Has anyone had any experience with this? I know some people have mentioned the "Kepp-rage" they get, and I can understand that. ... Does anyone know what happens at 2,000 mgs, or even 1,500? Thanks.

I take 1500mg of Keppra...Initially I was tired and little moody....But now, I feel fine...Thus far it works really well...Don't get discouraged sometimes it takes a while for body to adjust to new meds....But if you find that after a while (month or so) you still feel terrible than maybe Keppra is not for you....I felt really weired when I was taking Zonogram...Yet many people feel fine on it....Its strange how these medications work on a brain and what they evoke in individuals....
