This is continued from my other post "What does it mean - Low white blood count? Re:7 year old"

At neurology yesterday the DR. said her white blood count was normal again, we discussed it and figured out that it might have been low because a couple of weeks after the blood test she came down with a throat infection so maybe her system was already acting up.

Now the even better news. The results from the EEG showed NO SIGNS OF EPEILEPTIC BRAIN WAVE ACTIVITY http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif yAHOO! The DR. said we will go back in 6 months at which point if all has gone well she will start to decrease the meds (she said it should take about 6-8 weeks to wean her off completely) and then she'll have another EEG.

On another note the DR. said it may help take away her fatigue and maybe, just maybe help her to focus and concentrate better. She's currently on 12.5mg of ritalin for ADHD. But in "my opinion" even if she would be able to focus better it won't help her to be less hyper, will it?

Good news in my family of problems for a change http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bouncing.gif

What wonderful news!! Hope it continues so well and the wean is possible. The ADHD might be made worse by the AED's, sometimes this happens. SHe might still be hyper without the meds, only time will tell. SOme meds have made my son more or less hyper. He was first listed as ADD then switched to ADHD when first taken off AED's for some testing. He is more in the ADD category mostly. Never tried ADHD meds yet.

Thanks for sharing good news, always good to hear....
