You can have the virus and not have a breakout. some people have maybe 2-3 a year...men mostly....women have a much harder time with herpes. Finster 12-17-2006, 07:45 PM heyyy.. you can defently have an out brake and it wont show that is whey they recomande pap tests... and other tests every few months... sometimes if u are a girl u will get them in the inside of u such as ur uterus thats why its important to get checked up on,.. SOme of these aretratable over21 12-18-2006, 12:41 AM Just a clarification; A paps test is not a test for Herpes and will not reveal your herpes status, unless you're in the middle of an outbreak. A typical STD checkup doesn't not include a test for herpes! You need to request it. The correct herpes bloodtest is and IgG type specific blood test. HerpeSelect is the most common. Skip the older IgM test, they're worthless. over21 12-18-2006, 12:41 AM Just a clarification; A paps test is not a test for Herpes and will not reveal your herpes status, unless you're in the middle of an outbreak.
