I thought I didn't have trigger points until today when I wore a turtle neck sweater and really thought about it. I usually avoid wearing turtle necks because of the pain they cause but I decided to wear one today thinking I was better. As usual I suffered pain from it. The weight from the turtle neck laying on my collar bone and the extra weight the turtle neck puts on the back of my neck makes my head hurt and my jaws hurt, but especially my head. There's a coat that my father bought me that I cannot wear because it's long and heavy and the way it's made. The weight of the coat on the back of my neck makes my head hurt so bad. Are these trigger points or something else?

See a physiotherapist, who can help you identify trigger points, and help eliminate them.

sounds consistent with trigger points to me - could always be from some other type of pathology.

In my opinion you do not need a physiotherapist to get rid of them. I think its best to do it yourself. I really recommend the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Clair Davies.

something else could be causing the pain.

Have you tried working on the trigger points? Are you having any success? or difficulties?

Thanks lucky for your help. Does trigger point therapy temporarily relieve the headache pain or does it permanently relieve the headache pain?? And since you're the most educated about trigger points, does what I described truly sound like trigger point problems??
