Hi all
Well i had an appointment at the hospital last week, a follow up with my gastroenterologist and he thinks I am having going into a relapse with my Crohn's.
I had my bloods done to check my inflammatory markers and I am waiting to find out if i am. He said if i was then i need to go back on the steroids to get it under cotnrol.
The old symptoms of my Crohn's have come back.
I have been under alot of stress lately so I am hoping it is just the stress that has brought these symptoms on and not a relapse. he said if it is a relapse he is concerned as I only had surgery 3 months ago.
I have been diagnosed with arthritis which was caused by the crohn's. I have it in my hands, knee and shoulder. 30 years old and my health is so poor. I am now considering giving up work as i dread to think what i will be like in 10 years time if i carry on working.

I'm really sorry to hear this!! If you have the option not to work, that would probably be a good idea. I want to learn more about the connection between bowel disorders ad arthritis and other inflammatory diseases. There seems to be something to all of that that usually isn't talked about. I hope they find out it isn't a relapse!! Keep in touch!

Hi Queen
Well arthritis is classed as inflammation of the joints, so i guess when somebody has inflammation in the body it can affect the bones also, and only causes arthritis when the inflammation is constant or left untreated. Alsi ti can be caused by a poor immune system and people with crohn's do not have the best immune system.
I too hope it isn't crohn's coming back to haunt me, i just hope it is stress.
thank you for your concern and i will let you know
