i had mild vaginal burning 21 days after vag/anal sex. we used condoms, but my gyno said i have yeast. he wont have my exam results for a week, but he said there was no blood or bacteria in my urine specimen.
i am so worried abt hiv though. the sex was with my co-worker and he did assure me that there is no reason 4 me to be tested. do i have to wait 12 weeks?
Would this yeast prob be a sign of hiv after 3 weeks? i am also on the bcp.

Well you can get tested before the 12 weeks sure, but the test result is not as accurate. I believe it takes a certain amount of time for your body to form antibodies against the virus and that is what they are testing for. There really is no sense in getting a test that is not as accurate. Honestly girl I think you are ok. Even if he was HIV + and you did not use protection, there is always a chance that you could not have gotten it. But the fact that you did use protection tells me you are pretty safe. Try not to worry, just wait the 12 weeks get tested and ease your mind. I mean it won't hurt to get tested at 3 weeks I did after my exposure. Although mine wasn't sexual in nature, I got an absolute HIV+ person's blood on my hand and my 3 week was negative as well as my 5 month test. I am also preggo. Don't freak out. Just let it go, and wait the 12 weeks. Hope that helps. :)

Oh one other thing, a yeast infection can be caused by lots of things, I would not take that as a symptom. Sex can alter the good bacteria in your vagina causing a build up of yeast. It is very common. Now if the Dr. gives you something like Diflucan or something and it still does not get better then I might worry. But until then, No worries. :)
