Hello all...here's my story

I started my last period on 11/28... I decided to start nuvaring on 12/5. a week late and it was my first time using it. about 36 hours later i "bd" unprotected on 12/8, 12/9, & 12/10...on 12/12 i took out the nuvaring bc i though i might become pregnant and it was causing me problems.

I have been having some crazy symptoms, weird cramping, pulling and twinges a few days ago, nausea when i don't eat, severe hunger, sore bb's which i NEVER get with AF, and the past 2 days increased bumps on my areola and HUGE blue veins running thru my bb's & nipples ( & i have very fair skin) today i spotted briefly brownish when i wiped only 2 times and now...nothing. i have been using the bathroom around 13-14 times in 24 hours and i can smell everything-YUCK! i am due for AF on 12/26 or 27. this am i took hpt and bfn...

any one have any clues what's going on with me??!! cud i be pg even tho i was on the nuva ring for about a week?

thanks for any opinions!

Well, I can tell you that you tested too early. Even if you are pregnant, it would not be positive yet. Generally HPT's don't turn positive in pregnant women until 10-14 days after ovulation occurs. So if you have 28 day cycles, which by the dates you have given it looks as though you do, then you would have ovulated on December 12th. You BDed on this day as well as several days before this, and sperm can live inside your body for up to 5 days if conditions are right.
I am not familiar at all with the Nuva ring, but putting that aside, it is definately possible for you to be pregnant given the days you had unprotected sex... especially since you started the birth control mid cycle. On the flip side, it is also possible that the symptoms you are feeling are from the effects of the birth control, and perhaps the fact that you started it mid-cycle is throwing your body a little out of whack.
But I would definately say you sound like a pregnant lady:) You should wait until around the day your period is due (14 days past ovulation) to test again and you will get your answer then!
I am not sure if you are hoping to be pregnant or not but I hope you get the answer you want!:)
Good luck!

The nuvaring will not make you pregnant. It's suppose to prevent it. The ring releases hormones for 21 days, and it's just like taking birth control pill everyday. The advantage of the ring is that you put it in 7days after your period and leave it in there for the next 3wks. By taking it out after a week, it's just like stopping to take the pill after a week. B/c you no longer had protection of the hormones in your body (that the ring slowly releases), it is possible that you could have ovulated after that and gotten preggo since like meggs said, sperm could live for over 5days.

However, all the symptoms you're feeling could simply be a result of the ring. Good luck.
