I posted a few days ago. I had anal intercourse last Sunday with a person who I'm not sure if he has it or not. It was unprotected. I immediately went to get myself tested on Monday and the results came out today, Wednesday -- Negative. But the thing is, they used the particle agglutination method -- Will this be accurate? Will HIV show already with this result if I just did last Sunday? I'm scared. I have rashes all over my body. It's very very itchy. I went to a derma and she said that it's probably from what I ate. I took antihistamines and it's no longer itchy and seems to be subsiding. Rashes from HIV don't occur 2 days after the intercourse, right? Usually it's weeks? Please help.

While I understand your concerns, the best and most conclusive testing is done 13 weeks after exsposure so I would think that the test you had would be highly suspicious and not terribly reliable.

You're right, the symtoms you have do not appear to be HIV related. In part because symtoms do not usually appear that soon. I mean, it woud be way too soon! It is possible that this issue is not HIV related but may be related to your stress and anxiety or be some kind of contact dermitis. Obviously, the antihistimines are working.

The sexual act? Where you the receptive partner or the active partner? chris
