Hello all,

I just started charting this month, and I think I am liking it :)

I have one question though. Can being under the covers all warm effect the result of the temperature? I have brown spotting and know that AF is coming like tomorrow, however, my temps are still up, like 98.4 98.5 and 98.6

Cound this really be because I am all cozy and warm under the covers. If that is the case, do I need to take my covers off and cool off before I take my temp ?? Oh well.....maybe someone has some insight.

Thanks everyone!!

If you sleep with the same covers every night then it doesn't affect anything. It is only if you do something different like use an electric blanket. I sleep with lot of covers, I like to be warm and it doesn't affect mine. What can affect it is a disturbance in your sleep like waking up several times a night and not sleeping well - I notice this occassioanally - if I am tossing and turning all night and not sleeping well my temp is higher and I disregard that one.
My temps don't drop until af shows and even then it takes a few days for them to drop to my preovulatory temps - this is totally normal due to residual progesterone.

Yes some people don't see a temp drop until after AF arrives:)

The key is to be consistent. If you always have covers on and are snuggled in when you take your temp, then it's fine. If you are only sometimes snuggled in, then you should probably remove some of the covers to try to cool down a bit.
