has anyone taken Generic Clomid? Do they even have it out there? I just had to buy my prescription and it was a pretty penny for brand name!!! I have heard of Serophene but I think thats the same thing as the Clomifene... I also have heard of Fertomid? Or is that something different? Thanks!

You're right, Serophene is generic Clomid. Femara (letrozole) is a medication that also works like Clomid. I know a couple of women whose REs would not prescribe serophene because there is some question about whether it is as effective as the name brand product.

I'm not sure if I believe that, as usually a generic prescription has to have the same active ingredients and be an equivalent drug.

I have not taken clomid or serophene, but I have taken Femara.
