View Full Version : Denial and Quality Review

Last week, I called the national number and was told that my claim had been denied. They told me to call the local office for more info. I called the local office and was told that, yes my claim had been denied. The lady was very nice and said that she was going to talk to her supervisor and try to get permission to send me copies of the 2 doctors' reports that they had sent me to. She also told me to appeal and was going to send me an appeal packet.
Well, I haven't heard or received anything so I called back to the national number today. She told me that, I should disregard being told that I was denied because, for some reason, my claim was sent to quality review. She said that it could take up to 60 days to hear the final decision.
What should I think of this???
Do they ever overturn a denial???

Hope you kept a record of the names & dates of everyone you talked too.

I would call the local and national office back & ask them *politely but firmly* to send you your denial notice & notification that your claim is going for Qualify Review IN WRITING.

Somehow you fell through the cracks. You should have gotten something in the mail "if you are not represented my an attorney" or your attorney should have advised you of what is going on if represented.

Good luck!

The national office said that they don't normally send out notifications that the claim is in quality review.

Suggest that you check out the Social Security Disability website & read up on Quality Reviews:

"Your disability must last or be expected to last for at least one year or to result in death."
