which bands are likely to show up first in a western blot test for HIV + individual?
I know that p24 is likely to show up first but it is also the most common to cross-react with other antibodies. What else?
If you are HIV+, do you mind sharing the result of your first western blot test?
Mine came up with p24 and p18... it is indeterminate but I suspect it is seroconverting.. although the PCR confirms negative but it is only 3 weeks post exposure.

thanks again motherlove. I know how stressing it it when there is some error with the test result or when you body naturally react with the test even though you are perfectly healthy. You get very anxious and starts thinking that maybe you do have HIV. it will definitely change your lifestyle 180 degrees. Even if you don't there will be those around you who will act differently - some with compassion, some with disgust. With your case, it is very unlikely you will contract HIV through blood on the toilet seat. The virus is very fragile it will die before it even gets to you. Good luck to both of us
