I had my u/s this morning (today is day 13 for me) and had an egg at 17 (size). I have never had one above a 14 before. They did b/w to see if I need to take my shot (ovidrel) tonight. the doc office just called and said my b/w did not show it was ready and for me to do a surge test 2x's tomorrow and 2x's on Saturday and if no surge then do the shot Saturday night. If I surge I need to do the shot then (when I surge). My question is at what size does and egg release naturally? I thought at 17 it would be viable and ready for the shot. Now I find out I have to wait a few more days. I was so excited this morning and now I feel so down.

ive only done ivf and my dr does not give me too much info about the size of my eggs he just says im responding well, but i know that my largest eggs are in the low to mid 20's.. so i would think it would be time real soon :) good luck!

Hi there. I know my Doc only gives me the trigger if they are 18 or over. On my first cycle that I responded to clomid, I had one follicle that was just 18, and he told me that I just barely made it this cycle.

My RE likes to wait for the trigger until they are over 18 too. Sounds like you are almost there! Good luck and keep us posted.

I usually trigger when it is over 19. The last IUI I was at 19 and they had me wait one more day to trigger. They use your b/w to tell if the follicle is mature because they want your estrogen to be around 150-200 for a mature follicle. So it looks like you will be in good shape!!!
