After lifting heavy weights for a few weeks, I developed foot pain. It goes from my heels to the balls of my feet. But I also have problems with really tight calves and cramping. I've tried stretching, but it doesn't seem to do much. Basically having problems from the knees down.
Has anyone else experienced this? Planters Fasciitis? Can it cause all this?
PF would explain the pain in the botom of your feet, but not the pain in your legs. If you have been lifting heavy weights and don't wear good supportive shoes, you may have irritated that tendon. Maybe it is just good old tendonitis, requiring rest and icing.

I have PF and I do have accompanying pain up the leg to the calf area. I think this is not uncommon. Stretching definitely does help. You could use the calf stretch machine at the gym or the old standby - hands against a wall, one foot front the PF leg length directly back of it, entire foot on the floor and hold for 30 seconds. Do this 3/x a day.

yeah, it's very weird. I definitely get the hard-core heel aching around 5-7pm (after I've been on my feet). And I get "knots" in my calves.
If I work out my legs in the gym, it gives me temporary relief, but I'm in pain again 24 hours later.
I have some orthotics that I wasn't wearing when this first started bothering me. Now I'm wearing them again, icing, etc.
Do ya'll think it is safe to continue working out my legs?

I had to stop the treadmill and stepper, only use the recumbent bike now, and do not do the leg press as I figured out that it was not helping the PF. I still do knee extensions.
