Hi,
I have been taking Adderall for about a week now and have noticed major lethargy. I thought that side affect would go away after a few days. It's so bad that it makes it hard for me to do even the smallest tasks never mind focusing while doing them! Should I stick it out for a few more weeks or should I try switching meds? I'm on a very low dose 5mg 3x's daily. I also notice a major decrease in my appetite- which is ok because I can stand to loose a few pounds. But I have to force myself to eat even 1 meal a day-that can't be good! Now I'm questioning the diagnosis of ADD in the first place even though I have ALL the symptoms. Any help or suggestions?
THANK YOU!

HI,
My son takes an ADD med too. I think if you feel tired it is working. At least that is the way I understood it. My son can concentrate now where before to get him to sit still to do homework was awful. I am not sure if the lethargic feeling will eventually subside. I know my son struggles with that too. He takes a time released bill; so during the time period where the bill is about to release again he has a bit more energy. Maybe you could try a different pill.

You sound like you are when my meds are wearing off. Lethargic. I take 20mg 3x a day. I wondering if your dose is to low, like it's not getting "over the effectiveness peak".
During my tritation period, we increased my doses over time. We started low and went up a little every 3 days until we found an effective dose.
Was 5mg the final prescription for you?
