Well I have not posted in a while. After my sister's last failed IUI (her 3rd) I have seen so many women get BFP, and so happy for them!
Janice had her LAP done today. Her left fillopian tube is collapsed, not repairable. She had a lot of ENDO, so they cleared all that out. Now, the next step is after the first of the year they go back in, not too sure if they will try IUI again since they only have one tube at this point. I guess IVF.
Question, even if her tube is collasped can they collect eggs from that side still?
Anyway - not the best news, but news of what the problem may be.

im sorry her tube is collapsed :) but that is the great thing about ivf, tehy can get past that problem.. im ot sure if they can still collect from that side, but if they take one egg and gfet it fertilized it can happen!!i wll keep your sister in my thoughts and prayers, especially over this holiday season... i hope 2007 we both get to see our BFPs!!!

Unless your sister had endo adhesions that really affected that ovary (I am sure that they would have told her this), they should be able to use that side. The fallopian tube is not really even an issue with IVF. They go straight to the ovary to retrieve the eggs during IVF. Then when they do the embryo transfer, they place it directly in the uterus, unlike a "normal" process where the embryo has to channel down the fallopian tube to get to the uterus and implant itself. Sorry to hear about your sisters problems, but at least they are potentially fixable and pregnancy is still a possibility. Good luck to her and thanks for being such a great sister to her.

Glad to see your post - I have been thinking about you guys and hoping everything was okay :) . I'm sorry to hear about Janice's tube too. I know how disappointing that news can be. At least she still has one good one, they cleared out the endo, and best of all, she still has options. I hope she can at least feel positive about those things. It would just be a guess, but I'd agree with Amy (sobannon) about IVF and whether or not they would still be able to retrieve eggs from that ovary. It makes sense that they wouldn't need the tube to do that.
Well, I don't have any wonderful words of wisdom, I just wanted to say hi and let you know somebody out here is thinking about you guys and hoping your dreams come true.
Take care!! And keep checking in with us please.

Hi there,
I just wanted to chime in with the rest of the guys and say I am so sorry that your sister has a blocked tube. Getting that kind of news can bring you down but thank god for science she still has the IVF option. I wanted to thank you for letting us know her story as I just had my 3rd failed IUI and will be having a lap next month. I was not aware until reading these posts that you can still have IVF with a blocked tube so b/c of your post I learned that and it really is a help for mew to know this before I go into having the lap in case I have bad news about my tubes as well. Anyway I want to wish your sister all the best and hope that she gets a BFP in 2007!!!! Your are a great sister to be doing this for her, she is lucky to have you :) Please keep us posted!!!
