View Full Version : Wisdom Teeth Removal Question

Hi everyone,

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday. Things went very well, there was very little swelling of my mouth and the pain has nearly completely gone away. My back teeth feel pretty weird, Im not really sure how to explain, but my real concern is, one of my stitches just came out of my mouth. They were supposed to be the dissolving kind. There is no bleeding and the "hole" looks like it is healing very well but not fully healed. Is this a problem. I know I need to take good care of it and the such but is it a real problem about the stitch coming out on its own? thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to all!!!

No - its kind of normal - the surface stitches will come first and then the deeper ones, if any, will follow. I had oral surgery a few months ago and one stitch took more the 3 weeks before it finally fell out - I was so tempted to pull it myslef by that point as well. Just try and keep the area clear of food bits, etc. Good luck - glad it went so well and Happy Holidays to you as well.
