Hello all,
New member here.
My name is Chris and I'm 20 years old. This past week, I battled an episode of horrible strep throat. I went to the doctor, and was prescribed Avelox (moxifloxacin). I'm sure there are better options, however I'm uninsured and the doctor pretty much took what he thought was best from his "goodie closet", as he calls it.
Anyway, I've just finished the 10-day (once a day) treatment of Avelox, and although my throat and overall self feel considerably better, my mouth is in extreme pain. So much so that I've resorted to Vicodin to ease the pain.
I have canker sores on the bottom part of my gum line next to my bottom lip (all the way near the bottom), as well as what seems to be canker sores on the inside of my gum, and can be felt (painfully :dizzy: ) with my tongue. I've also developed what seems to be canker sores on the actual tonsils themselves. I never thought this was possible, but hey, I'm not a doctor.
I'm not asking if this is "normal", but what can cause this? Is it a reaction to the Avelox, Vicodin, or still just getting over the strep itself?
Thanks so much for your time. Merry Christmas
