In november in a week before thanksgiving i got a little sick and lost my voice for about a week. I had this slight sore throat eversince. i got sick again around a week ago and the sore throat got worse, but after the infection was gone the sore throat lessend again.
ever since i had this sore throat, but only on the left side of my throat in the same exact spot and hasn't got any better. it seems to only hurt when i swallow or when i drink something; especially when its cold.

I went to the doctor and he told me it was nothing and to just give it time. Im starting to get worried and frusterated and am looking for any advice or input.

Hi...will your doctor refer you to an ENT? You should have your throat/larynx checked out in case it's a chronic infection.
Did your doc put you on meds at all?
Did he take a swab at least?

I don't think he'll refere me to an ENT. He didn't put me on any meds. He did take a q tip and rubed the spot where it hurt in my throat, but afterwards threw the q tip away i don't think he took a swab. He said ill be fine and that it might take a while for it to go away.

I think it may be strep throat because i see some white spots on the back of my throat, but they are way back and down in the throat. You can hardly see them, but im still curious on why it only hurts on my left side throat and not my right.

I'm having a chronic sore throat problem as well. My sore throat has been going on for over a week and a half; nothing like yours but it is rather annoying. The pain is so severe that Ibuprophen does not make a dent in it at all. I am not able to swallow hardly any liquids without pain, let alone food. My throat is very swollen. If I don't get better by Monday, I am calling an ENT.

Hang in there.

Hi I would assume that the infection is mainly on one side...wouldn't worry about where it is...

Try putting salt in warm water and garggle few times a day...

Warm tea with Honey is good for your throat also...

Might gargle with Listerine also......

get lots of rest....

Hope you feel better soon!!!

:D
