For the last couple of days I've noticed that while my dizziness has improved a bit (although worsens in the evenings) I've been experiencing a great deal of fatigue. Noticeably, moreso now than earlier. It's a feeling of being on Dramamine or Meclazine, but I have not taken either for days. Has anyone had experience with this?
I have not been diagnosed with VN, but suspect I may have it. I'm going back to my ENT next week, so hopefully I will get some answers.
Thanks!

I feel the same. One thing is that with Meniere's disease, you will feel very tired after a bout of severe dizziness. With other vestibular disorders, it can be just the exhaustion of dealing with the day to day dizziness that makes us tired. You better make sure all your blood work is okay. Tiredness with dizziness could be thyroid, low iron, lots of things.
Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Suzy. I have had blood taken twice within the last month and everything was fine. You have a point about exhaustion of dealing with the day to day. I've also noticed that I'm not getting the sleep I was getting while on the Meclizine.

Hi Nanlev
As your dizziness improves---it is not unusual---to have more fatigue---with vestibular problems---there can be a lot of it: (from the R&D Medical effort)
..."A third area would be decreased mental stamina. That speaks for itself. For a vestibular patient an hour or two of concentration is a special blessing, and most days 15 minutes of intellectual concentration is very fatiguing."....
In that---as ur brain---is learning to compensate---for the vestibular deficiency---it is---operating in "Hyper Drive"---so to speak---learning...
As u---compensate---it goes away for most....

Hi Nan,
Do you or did you feel there was a viral infection iinvolved with this when the dizziness arrived? If so it could be that which leaves you feeling tired now. I had big troubles with energy levels following the viral infection that went through me leaving me with the initial VN. All up the lethargy lasted about 3 months for me.

I get severly tired -- to the point where I could sleep all day....I just think the fatigue is a symptom of the labs and like all the other symptoms, the severity of them increase and decrease depending on the day.
I am still going through my bout after my setback almost 7 weeks ago. It is quite nerve racking..... But some days I am utterly exhausted....

Hi Scotsman,
A flu-like virus definitely preceded my dizziness. I was sick for about a week and a half before the dizziness started. I figured the dizziness was just the stubborn virus not wanting to leave, but when it didn't go away after a week, I became concerned. At that point I saw my doc and he said it was probably anxiety related, but I knew it wasn't. I saw an ENT and he confirmed that it was most likely an inner ear issue from the viral illness I had.
Thanks.

I'm so glad to have this board to confirm that I'm not the only one who is suffering from these symptoms. Thank you!

Thanks for the info! What is the R&D Medical Effort? And you say as one compensates it goes away? So, is there ever any kind of healing that occurs or is it that your brain just eventually compensates? Probably varies from person to person and their individual diagnosis.

Hi Nanlev
The R&D Medical effort was described in:
..."COGNITIVE ASPECTS OF VESTIBULAR DISORDERS
VEDA Conference - Portland, Oregon
Lecture by Kenneth Erickson, M.D., at a conference held in Portland, Oregon.
Patients and families, of course, have known for a long time that vestibular disorders bring about cognitive difficulties. Some psychologists and neurologists here in Portland for at least five years, crystallizing in the last two or three years, have now begun to recognize and study a number of cognitive disturbances associated with vestibular disorders.".....
