gordonling 12-24-2006, 04:56 PM hi all, how risky is it to perform oral sex on a female? does the duration of the contact matters? breezy111 12-26-2006, 03:26 PM The longer you perform the act, the more chance of coming in contact with the virus. Most websites I've seen say oral sex is not that risky, but it's still possible. If there's visible blood or open cuts on either of the participants the risk goes up, as well. gordonling 12-26-2006, 09:00 PM Thanks for the reply The contact was brief, like 10 seconds. may be less.. .. i have no open flesh wound, not that i know of.. there was a minor crack on the lip due to dryness, but not bleeding. I want to get tested, but when should i go? breezy111 12-27-2006, 03:04 AM You're supposed to wait three months, but if that was your only exposure just forget about it; it's not even worth it. gordonling 12-27-2006, 09:18 AM Hi thanks. There are no other exposure asid from that brief 10 second of oral sex performed on her. I did put my finger inside her, but I believe that is a low risk activity (i have no cut or open wound on my finger). we didn't do anything else. aside for some mutual touching. last1 12-27-2006, 09:52 AM The only other thing you need to consider (and it still is a low probability factor) is whether or not she may have been mestruating (or just completed her period) where there would be some residual blood. This only would mean that you might be exposed to two fluids sources - vaginal and bleeding. Again, I suspect that this is a low probability but possible nevertheless. chris |
