I've been lurking awhile, but I've still been checking up on you ladies (and the few gentlemen!) Anyway, Christmas shopping has been a great form of therapy for me this season...must have walked the malls, each, a few times over. But, aside from a little cold, I am feeling fine..and hope that all of you are too!!!

To the point: Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday (of your choice) and Happy New Year! I hope all of you are recovering or doing well... and get a chance to spend some quality time with your loved ones!! :)

Much Love from NJ, while I wait for Santa!!!!

Thanks for the wishes. I'm not far from you - I'm in the suburbs of NYC where we are having exceptionally nice weather for this time of year - not a white Christmas for us but that's okay with me. I would like to be on steadier ground before the white stuff flies.

Mary,

It was more of a wash out Christmas by me this year, so I decided to make Christmas White for myself by dressing in all white! :) I was called a snowflake--got the flake part right, and an angel! But it was fun, and I did it my way. I also took a step forward in recovery today, I wore high-heeled boots to church and back.. I can honestly tell you, it's the first time that I felt like a girly-girl in a long time. The doc said not to wear regular pumps but I figured the boots were fine because they were calf-high and supported my ankle really well! My feet are a little sore because of walking like Barbie all day, but my ankle didn't protest until the rain started... which made me spend the rest of my day in my fuzzy slippers, not something I minded! :) Anyway, Christmas came and went and it was a lot of fun. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday, I was a little surprised not to see reponses from the 'usuals' where are you girls????

I guess I am one of the usuals????????? I am on an island off the coast of Mexico where it teemed rain Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. No pumps for me....barefoot or in sandals but all this humidity is making my feel swell! Back on Naproxen for the time being. Happy Holidays to all and best wishes for a pain-free 2007!:)

I just got back from Roanoke, VA for Christmas at my motehr in law's home. Big, old house with 23 people around the dinner table and a mountain of wrapping paper on the floor.
We had rain but it was good to be around all the little ones (even if they did knock me down a few times). Will do our own little family Christmas this week when we can get all the work schedules to cooperate. Had a good time.

I used to be a “Usual”. (Now I just check the boards occasionally for news of old bunion buddies from last spring, and if I have time, respond to a question that seems particularly relevant to my experience). The weeks before Christmas were very busy for me—my husband and I created an Advent book several years ago and we do presentations about family traditions, especially related to Christmas, for many groups during Nov. & Dec. That is in addition to my full time job as a Library Media Specialist at a K-8 school. (I did have to take some days off from that.) I was on my feet a lot—with NO problems!—but am finally relaxing and enjoying the 12 Days of Christmas with my friends and family. I hope to do some cross-country skiing before school starts again on Jan. 8th, but right now it’s raining, rather than snowing, in Chicago. The weather has sure not been “Christmasy,” but I do enjoy all the beautiful holiday lights that brighten up our long dark nights. Hope you are all continuing to heal and that you are enjoying some special times with your friends and families. Happy New Year! Kathy
