Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum, but I was wondering if anybody have a clue about what's wrong with my right foot.
First of all, long time ago when I was a kid, I constantly experienced muscle sprains at my right foot. I would wake up with one for no reason, so I'd go to school suffering. I got used to it. Then, it disappeared. Although I noticed that I lost some flexiblity in my right foot, but it was no big deal.
Later, when I got older (still a kid), I was playing a hiding and seeking game with my friends. I was running when I suddenly fell in a hole where my foot bent sideway (that's where my flexibility was already restricted with... so it was very painful when it was bent that way). I screeeeamed. I could not put weight on my foot for a while (I didn't go to hospitial because my mom insisted that it was nothing, but a muscle sprain and it was not swollen, or little that is). Eventually, I recovered, but with even more restricted range of motion.
Now lately, I have noticed when I walk, I can feel a bone grinding with other bone that gets sore/bruised later leaving me with stiffness (sometimes, I can't even bend my foot upward, leave alone sideways). Sometimes, I get the sensation of it being locked up because some bone gets in its way. It is very painful. It takes days to heal and it gets worse and takes longer to heal everytime after I take a walk. It makes me not want to exercise anymore because it’s not fun at all to limp and have a hard time going downstairs or upstairs for that matter. I have noticed that it’s starting to happen out of blue too, not just from exercising. Even though if I don’t exercise for a time being and allow it to heal, it still has some sensation of locking up.
It has been progressively getting worse and it is keeping me from enjoying my time outside. I am worried that I might eventually limp for my life because of my foot. I cannot sit with my legs crossed without having it locked up either. That doesn’t bother me as much as when I walk and it gets so painful for few days (it gets longer now... maybe it’s because of the winter, but I don’t know).
It always happen at the same spot as illustrated here. The pain, of course, shoots from there to my toes and my lower leg. The blue spot is where the grinding/locking sensation is felt (for both sideways and upward/downward motions). The orange spot is where the extended pain (especially when I bend my foot upward) is felt before it shoots to toes and my lower leg (if it is bad enough).
Of course, I should go to the doctor, but first, I wanted to get your opinion and see if there is anything that can be done or maybe you have a same experience that you can share? I feel frustrated and limited just because of my retarded right foot, but I am afraid that maybe doctors will make it worse than it is already. Know what I’m saying?
Thanks
