I want to color my hair, but my eyebrows will be a totally different color if I do. What's the best way to match up the brows, cuz I know most hair dyes say not to use on facial hair?

Many salons now tint eyebrows and lashes. It looks very, very good. If you can't swing the 15 to 18 dollars to have it done once a month, just pruchase the stuff from Sally's. It's much cheaper, but be careful. It was meant to be applied by a professional and you DO NOT want to get it in your eyes. That would be bad.

If you are going darker, you can always buy some eyebrow powder or gel to darken them up a little bit. I do this all the time just because my eyebrows are thin and I like them to be a little more defined. They look very natural and not penciled in or anything. As for going lighter, I would definitely go to a pro!

PS.. I have naturally medium brown hair and lighten it sometimes.. right now it has golden blonde highlights. I went with my hair completely golden blonde one time and left my eyebrows.. they aren't very dark but I wanted them to show up and not be blonde too! I think it looks okay to have the eyebrows a little darker.. I even know some people who naturally have blonde hair and very dark eyebrows. But if it's TOO much I would check with a salon about that.

My problem is grey/white eyebrows coming in. I hope the Sally's would work for them because regular hair color never has done much.

Hi Dapple,
Yes, professional brow tint covers grey hair. You know, some women use that Just for Men hair color for facial hair. It covers grey hair for weeks and it's easy to find a matching color. It says not to use it on brows, but they do it anyway. It's easy to keep out of your eyes, plus one box will last forever. I would not recommend using it on your lashes though. Buy the lash tint from Sally's for your lashes. Black lash tint is very natural looking, and will really make your eye color pop.

My new hairdresser is the first on ewho ever colored my eyebrows. since they have a few greys in them she free of charge just put a little color on to make them as dark as my hair. looked great. also my daughter has a medium coppery hair, not so much auburn it's more a copper color. she has black eyes and eyebrows. what a beautiful combo.

Oh, that men's sounds easy, eve. And with thin eyebrows like mine it probably would last forever. I never thought about doing my eyelashes but I hear it makes a diff even if they are already dark.

ICC when I had coppery hair I tried to color eyebrows and pubes (sorry, hope that doesn't offend!:) ) and neither would respond. Probably Miss Clairol was just not strong enuf.

dapple it could be but i'll tell you since my daughter was a child people have commented on her coloring. the lighter hair and depth of her eyes and eyebrows is just beautiful. people use to ask me if i colored her hair. DUH? at 7 years old. now salons tell her she has that color that doesn't come in a bottle. no offense taken. but i think you're right to go from a darker eyebrow to a lighter would need salon treatment.

Please, if you go red, do not do your eyeborws red! I know someone who did this, and it looks awful! I would just go a darker brown, especially if your a blonde...

I have done my own eyebrows before when I would dye my hair dark brown (i'm a dirty blonde). Don't do it yourself, have a professional do it. I do it myself with the "just for men" beard stuff, and I always go too dark, and have to bleach it a little so I don't look stupid. lol.
I'm back to my natural color, so I don't have to worry about it anymore, but professional know what their doing..
