View Full Version : hello, all...E return after 29 years

Hi, everyone...
This looks like a really nice board!
Of course, I didn't think I'd need it...'til last Wednesday. Anyone else had a 29-year break from seizures, only to have them return ultra-unexpectedly? I could not have been more surprised. Well, I suppose I could have been. I could have been my roommate. SHE was certainly surprised. Poor thing.
So.
Back on Dilantin and Tri-something or other...and no driving for six months. Nice. Just what I wanted. I really can't believe it. Seriously. Any advice for how to deal with this whole thing as an adult? Last time I had a seizure I was 6. Now...it's completely throwing off my sense of independence and control. Can't help it.
We are going to a support group on this coming Thursday...I hope that makes us both feel a little better. Right now, I have to say I feel guilty as H for having to be carted everywhere, and I bet my roommate feels persistently freaked out by the whole seizure experience. :|
Thanks for having such a board...it really helps to be able to ask similarly-situated people for their thoughts...(especially since I'm a big geek anyway).

Welcome Amy,

You were correct when you said that this looks like a nice board. Its the best here. It has been a little slow here all week but it will pick up.

I share your frustration with the "E" but mine didn't happen when I was a kid. I just got it a year ago and I am a 32 year old mother of 3. Just 'POOOF' one day and they started. I started with SP seizures. I would have horrific fear out of no where while I was experiencing my 'deja vu'. They progressed to PC seizures and that is what brought me to the doc.

I would be able to drive because I had the SP seizure as a warning that the other was coming. Very routine for a while but then I had a seizure with no warning on my way home from work and hit a few mailboxes at full speed (25 mph)and wrecked my car on the last one. I am now not driving for 3 months.

I reciently was put on Neurontin and so far this is the best stuff on the planet. I usually have 50 mini deja vou feelings a day...not the kind to make me go to the big seizure...these are just little feelings. They are SP seizures...anyway, I used to have 50 a day and now I have NONE!!! Just like that!! Lets see if they control the PC Seizures now.

Please tell us more about you and what type of seizures you have and all of that. We would love to get to know you. Hope to hear from you soon!!! I am in your corner if you need a friend to talk to!

God Bless,
KittyMom

Also had my first seizures start last summer at age 30. Lost my license for a year...was nice riding my bike to work all winter. NOT!!!!! I have gotten used to riding and asking people for rides, but it is very unsettling for sure. Hopefully I will get it back late this summer. **fingers crossed**

I always just thought e was something that "other people" had. Hmmm... I may have had a few seizures as a child, and not known what they were.
