Does anyone know if Paltous ET ever goes away..resolves itself ?..without treatment..

I had a cold..saw an ENT said "you got Paltous" should go away...? strange...after reading so much on it...i don't see that written that is goes way anywhere...
LAtely, my ears feel extra sensitive to loud...pitches...like sharp noises...such as a toilet seat..banging down...will make my ears jumpy...sensitive...it feels like my ears are TENSE....like the muscles that move the ears connected to the jaw...are extra tense too.
It's hard to tell what is anxiety and whats physical about this whole condition as I had very bad autophony following the cold. Now it seems I have more tenseness and sensitive hearing in both ears.
My doc prescribed premarin nose drops which i have not filled yet for the PET...this is very bad...and I am at my wits end with this whole thing. I am a musician..with this my career is over. Investigating the causes, symptoms...exhausting.....
Sometimes in the past year I've noticed when i sleep on a pillow that my ear rests on...my ear hurts like the pillow/ear presses to hard against each other....wierd

well now there are new revalations in this post.....sensitive to sounds, jumpy, all more a myoclonus sx. p e t does not effect your hearing outside sounds, with p e t you hear your internal body sounds. so if the toilet seat bangs, does your ear jump?......pat attention to what you feel and hear when a door slams or you clank silverware together.......interesting.

could it be both...hopefully not. I have sensitivity to outside sound for sure...jumpy at hi pitched sounds...the ear feels like it quivers.

the quivering sounds like myoclonus. i am not sure about having 2 rare ear disorders at once, myoclonus can cause patulous like sx.
make a list, look up all posts on these boards, search middle ear myo, tensor tympani syndrome, palatal myoclonus also look these disorders up on the web, you will find plenty to compare to.

well read up and talk to your dr. about it. you might want to find a neurotoligist, as ents know nothing.
it may resolve on its own, mine never did.

My right ear was acting fairly normal the whole time my left ear was acting up....feels like pressure..somewhat...makes my right eye tear a bit. neck tense...ear tense as if I am trying to wiggle my ear.....but i am not.......this is more than strange.....when i swallow...both ears kinda don't feel right...
so bad what's happened...how will i ever function normally again
