I was wondering if you had tried giving Cod Liver oil supplements? I was especially interetsed in knowing the dosage (our son is 5 yrs old) and also if there were any side effects noted.
In addition I was wondering if any of you had tried any music therapy programs -like Therapeutic Listening. If so did you see any benefit? if so after how long and what were the nature of changes. ALso any side effects from trying this?

Much appreciate your help

Best Wishes for Happy New Year to all of you and your families!

My 5 year old son takes 1 tsp of Arctic Cod Liver Oil, from Nordic Naturals, each morning. He also takes two ProOmega (70% omega 3) gel caps, also from Nortic Naturals. The fish oils help him with eye contact and speech. They also keeps his asthma under control. (As long as he is taking his fish oils regularly he does not have any asthma symptoms.) The oils have also eliminated the little bumps on the back of his arms and top of his thighs.

My son has not had any negative side effects. However, one of his little friends was not able to take cod liver oil because it gave him diarrhea. He was able, however, to take the omega-3 fish oil.

My son started the cod liver a couple months before he was 3. He was only taking 1/2 teaspoon at the time. The improvements in speech and eye contact were immediately apparant. The asthma and clear skin improvements took a couple of weeks.

Wow, that's an impressive improvement!!

I take fish oil for depression/anxiety and also give it to my son for his eczema/asthma. I take four capsules a day and it doesn't give me diarrhea nor does it give my son diarrhea. But everyone's different.

I'm impressed that your son will take spoonfuls of it. THat's great. And it's fabulous that it's working. Lots have been written about the benefits, and also of the benefits of evening primrose oil (for little boys that is - not just perimenopausal women like me!!)
