View Full Version : PT graduate - for now

Got great news- I am graduating from PT for a while. :) I have reached the limits of my recovery/abilities so they are "kicking me to the curb"! Of course this all depends on my OS agreeing next Friday when he sees me.

I know I will have to go back to PT after the next surgery, but I have really been looking forward to getting some time back (was doing PT 3x/week 32-3 hours each session). I get along pretty well as long as I wear the braces and am going to try exercising the dog, doing grocery shopping and all those other mundane little things I thought I would never miss. I'll still do my home program like my therapist said I need to do in order to maintain what I've got. It feels a bit odd to finally graduate - I thought this day would never come. Yippee

Jane,

So happy for you. Graduation day!!!!! Enjoy having more time to yourself for a while. There will be time for more work after the next surgery. take it slow, but if you want to try it, go for it.

Jane,

Congradulations!!! What a great moment to finally be done with PT- for now. Enjoy all those freedoms that you didnt have for so long! When is your next surgery?

Thanks guys!
I am not sure when my next surgery is. I could get it done now but I want to wait until at least late Spring - early Summer. After all, warmer weather makes it easier to wear shorts 24/7, plus the added advantage of more "life without crutches" time. Will find out what my doc says on the 5th - it all depends on how long I can stand it and how fast the bone is deteriorating.

Hi Jane
Congrats on your Graduation, I am very happy for you! I hope your ankle holds out and you can "enjoy" the tasks like dog walking, grocery shopping etc., As silly as it sounds, I can't wait for that day too ,
Have fun everyday before surgery, make the most of it and I wish you continued success and luck.
Carol
