Hi I am at my wits end, feel so depressed really thought that when i started taking the clomid i would be pregnant soon i have taken it now for 5 cycles and nothing. Each time i ovulated and the doctor was happy with the follicles but still nothing. Yesterday i went for my day 12 scan to see if there were follicles which there wasnt and my doctor also told me i had a cyst now as a result from the clomid and that i coulnt get the hg injection and to come back when im menstruating for a scan to see the cyst. I just broke down when i left her office. I feel so frustrated and annoied at whole thing and my doctor wasnt at all informative or helpful about what was happening just said well you have a cyst so we will have to stop the clomid which we were going to be doing anyway after this cycle and to come back in 2 weeks to see the cyst. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge about this i know she said the cyst might go away on its own but what do i do now just wait again all this waiting is driving me crazy and does this cyst now decrease my changes even more of getting pregnant im feeling so hopeless at the moment, what will the next step me for me and why if i was ovulating and the clomid was working why didnt i get pregnant?????

Hi Julie,
Welcome to the board!! You came to the right place because you will find a lot of support here. I am so sorry about your last MD visit. It is the worst when you have to stop treatment this month for a stupid cyst!!! It is quiet common when you are taking clomid or any other fertility drug that the liklihood of a cyst can occur. I have had a few and they have dissolved on there own. It will not prevent you from getting pregnant as many people get pregnant even with a cyst. In fact some-one on this board not so long ago is pregnant and also has a cyst. I am glad to hear your RE is taking you off the clomid, usually after 3 cycles if it does not work it is best to try something else. What is your diagnosis?? Even though clomid can assist with ovulation there could be so many reasons why you are still not pregnant. Try not to be discouraged there are so many other things out there you can try. I was on clomid for 3 months, then femara, then injections with IUI for 3 months and still nothing. I got pregnant once and miscarried prior to seeing a specialist, got pregnant just by charting BBT, but for over a year now after miscarriage ZIP no BFP! There is a mild male factor from my husband but his count has been great the last few times. I know that the waiting part is the worst and the anxiety of IF is the most stressful thing a couple can ever have to go through. I am so sorry you have to go through this but I want you to know that this board is here to support you. Are you seeing a reproductive Endocrinologist (RE)?? It seems like you are since you have the u/s and b/w. Your Re my recommend a lot of different things after clomid. I always have a list of questions with me at my next appt when we plan on changing tx. It is likely that she will put you on another type of fertility drug. Are your progesterone and estrodial levels ok on b/w?? How about you DH has he been tested?? Sorry for the long e-mail I like to ramble as you can see. Good luck!!! Please keep us posted and again welcome!!!!

Welcome to the board, sorry that your dr experiences aren't pleasant. Sometimes clomid works and sometimes it doesn't but don't be discouraged yet. I'm sure it feels as though you're out there on your own b/c your dr isn't explaining things to you but if you stay on this board and read through all of the topics that come up, you'll find a bunch of questions that you can ask your dr. Sometimes it's better to have a little knowledge and that helps them to be more informative with you, you're not a guinea pig or a lab rat, they need to explain things to you. I tried clomid for 5 cycles and did the b/w on day 22 and everything was looking good by my gynos standards but I still wasn't getting preg. I think that for everyone's body there is the right amount of meds, the right treatment and the right combo to make it all come together. Deluka has a good thought, if your partner hasn't been tested, he probably should. I just finished my second round of injectibles with IUI and I'm starting to think that clomid probably was working for me but I didn't have an hg trigger (probably needed that) and some help on DHs side (IUI can fix slow sperm). My DH hadn't been tested before I went to the RE and started the injectibels so we didn't know that there was a slight prob. We still haven't fgured out the right combo for us yet but I still have faith that we will and we've heard of 3 BFPs in the last 2 weeks on this board so there's hope.
Good luck to you and add more questions if you'd like, there are many on here who are informative, all with different IF problems. Sorry that it's long.
:)

Hi, welcome to the board! I am farely new myself and I don't get to read up on everyone's posts that often, but I do know that if you have any questions the women here are so knowledgeable. But I just wanted to write and say i'm so sorry that your appointment didn't go well. I know sometimes it feels like doctors are talking right through you and to the wall behind you instead of to your face. Sometimes I leave my RE thinking "what the heck just happened here!!!" I learned that I pretty much have to stand in front of his door and not let him leave until he has answered ALL of my questions!! But I was on clomid for only 1 IUI cycle and I didn't respond to it at all, so they put me on Bravelle, which was better but after each time I had a cyst and so I had to wait through another cycle. They told me it's really not anything to worry about and mine always dissolved on their own, they are just a pain!!! But we are now started our process of IVF and I'm getting more and more excited about it the more I read about success stories here on this board. But anyways, to make my long email short, hang in there, good luck, and I will surely be thinking of you!!
