well, after a several cycle break, DW and I are going to try IUI again. this time with drugs. DW just emailed from work, and AF started this morning. so, clomid starting new years day, ultrasound 9 Jan, and procedure 11 Jan. of course, all dates are variable. :)

hoping that she doesnt have a bad reaction to clomid like some people I have heard of. and she hates needles, so the trigger shot should be... ahem... interesting.:D

wish us luck... we have agreed to try clomid for 3 cycles, and then probably give up the fight. financially and emotionally draining, as I am sure you *all* know. we have learned a lot more about each other over the past 6 months, that is for sure.

brief history - 6 mo ttc (with RE's help..other than that, 5 years of BMS :D )
It is all a male biological issue - Sertoli cell only syndrome, so I am totally sterile.

Paulie,

Just wondering, if you don't want to answer, you don't have to. Since you are totally sterile, are you using a donor? We used a donor, and just wanted to give you some moral support. I know DH needed it. I can answer any questions that you may have. I wish you lots of luck.

yes.. using a donor. it was hte only other option for us other than adoption.. which we may go to if the IUI's dont work. IVF is kind of out of the financial scope of possibility at the moment.

IVF was out of the question for us as well. We couldn't afford 14,000 out of pocket on a chance. We chose IUI, with injectables and a donor. 7 IUI's total. We both have fertility issues. My DH is not sterile, but his motility and morphology are very poor. I wish you a lot of luck. Our little boy is the most precious gift we have ever been given. Our donor gave us the best gift ever. He is quite special.

Hi Paulie

Good luck to you and DW. If it helps, she should find the fattiest part of her belly below the navel to inject. The needles are so so tiny that I feel absolutely nothing, not even the slightest *****.

Paulie--Glad to hear you and DW are starting a new cycle with Clomid. I tried Clomid for 3 cycles, and just to ease your fears, I did not have any side effects at all the first 2 cycles (which I was on a lower dose). I ended up moving on to injectable cycles with IUI's, and I got my BFP on my 2nd injectable cycle (3rd IUI)--which by the way, I wouldn't rule out injectables as a try, if heaven forbid this cycle doesn't work. Like Hopeful said above, the needles are REALLY tiny, and even for a pain-wuss like me, I did ok. I think you and DW will be surprised how easy the one trigger shot is. But like I say, hopefully this cycle will be THE ONE!!! Good luck! :)
