I was given Cymbalta to try awhile ago. I did a couple of times (like 2 days of it) but I got a bad headache from it. (or so I thought) I now think that it might have been a coincidence that I got the headache from it because now, lucky me, I have been getting 'migraines' too for about the last 6 months. Gotta love life! Anyhow.... I was wondering if anyone had a preference of taking it at night or in the morning. How long did it take you to feel emotionally better being on it?? I really don't like the thought of trying it again BUT I know I need something to help me out emotionally to deal with this better. Any insight with it would be great. Thanks

Ugh.... I took the Cymbalta last night and oh gross!! I woke up a few hours later and had such a sick stomach. I feel shakey this morning, have a headache, and such heartburn?? This isn't worth it... that is for sure. I am not trying it again, so you can forget my question about morning or night. Thanks though!

heya .. sorry to hear you're suffering. I started on Cymbalta and it made me feel a little lightheaded and nauseated and sleepless for a few days, but it passed and the drug helped a lot. I can't say it helped with pain, but it definitely helped manage the associated depression. It took about a week to kick in. Since it does affect my sleep, I take it in the morning. If I forget to take it for a day, it makes me nauseated the next time I take it, so don't be a dunderhead like me. If you find that Cymbalta is not working for you after a few weeks or so, ask your doc to switch you to something different. Everyone's chemistry is different and there are many options with antidepressants. Hope you find relief soon and that the headaches pass.

Hey there Schragie. Thanks for the reply. Today was such an awful day though, like I actually felt like I had the flu all day. I still have kinda like a dull feeling and upset stomach still tonight sooooo I am very nervous about trying it anymore. Maybe I should try it when I dont' have anything going on for a week or so. This weekend is so busy, I am scared to try it again and end up feeling like this again tomorrow. I think I will wait til another time.
Thanks again for your reply. Hope your holidays are going great! Marie

I took Cymbalta for the first time last Tuesday....woke up with nausea & a headache (I took it at bedtime)....then during the day, I got this very angry, nasty feeling....and that is something I never have.... I had the same feeling one other time, when I took Buspar.... I felt draggy all day as well. Decided that I was not going to take Cymbalta... I realize that the nausea and headache may go away...in time, but that angry feeling was not good.
Some stuff works for some people and not others...don't think this is the one for me. I was prescribed it because my new PM Dr. decided that anyone who has had pain for four years must be depressed. Told him I didn't feel depressed...maybe once in a while, but only for a day...told him I get more anxiety than anything. BUT, he said try this, it's new....yeah, sure....dumb stuff.
Hope it works better for you..

LOL... Sage, you hit the nail on the head..."Dumb Stuff" is what you called Cymbalta. That just struck me funny. I agree, for me, it is "dumb stuff". Hopefully for others it works for them! My bottle is in the garbage. I am not sure what I will try next... maybe lots of prayer?? :-)
Take care! Marie

I'm sorry to hear of the bad experiences with Cymbalta. I take 30mg in the morning and it helps. The doc tried to up it to 60mg and that spaced me out so bad and caused nausea. The 30's do just fine. That is along with the other crap I'm on.
