Which doctor orders these tests, should it have been the neurosurgeon, the family doctor or pain managment. I am obviously gonna have to ask someone to do some sort of further testing myself.

Any of them. Whoever is in charge of your immediate healthcare is who I would ask. Neither of the tests are easy and often quite painful, but the most effective in finding disc issues is the discogram. I've not had an EMG as of yet.

Thanks, I will ask first the next neurosurgeon in january!!! If not I will go from there, I know I have read they are painful. But so are those damn epidurals and they don't do anything for me.
