Hello,
I have been sick for 2 weeks and I am starting to feel much better. One of my most troubling symptoms is abating as it has twice before and then reappeared. I am waiting to hear when my MRI will be (it is in the works and should be any day within 2 weeks now). It occurs to me to ask: does it matter when you have your MRI wrt exposing possible lesions? I mean, is it important to be in an episode of symptoms or not? I guess that really means I'm asking whether these lesions heal and if so do they leave scar tissue or just disappear?

Thanks - Suzy-Q

Suzy,

They can do a MRI at anytime. If the lesions are active they will show up with contrast. If they have healed they will show up being little dark spots. If the lesions are micro(very small)they can remylinate themselves and therefore not be detectable by the MRI.
