What is your favorite foundation? Right now I'm just using mineral makeup but might want to switch. There are a few products I really like out there, but I love to hear feedback about productcs I haven't used before :). Thanks!

My favorite used to be BE but it's now Everyday Minerals. I get bored sometimes, like you, and want to try something different but I always end up going back. Because, quite frankly, there is nothing better then mineral makeup out there, for me. It always makes my skin look flawless, plus it's so good for my skin. It's always easy to apply and, as you know, very forgiving. I use mineral everything, even lipgloss. What can I say, I'm a mineral girl. ;)

L'Oreal Ideal Balance is the best I've ever tried. My second fave is Maybelline Age Rewind. Both are cheap, but work great.
I got the L'Oreal for free a couple of times and used it for a long time... loved it. It's oil free, very light, but provides good coverage and lasts pretty much all day.
I decided to try the Maybelline mainly because it was one of the cheapest I could find (other than CG), and ended up really liking it. It provides similar coverage as the L'Oreal, but it has higher SPF, which is great.

I used clinique through my 40's and loved it. when i was younger everything worked. since i turned 50 i've noticed nothing does so i tried bare minerals. had my doubts at first but learned to use it properly and love it now. when i needed new make-up this year i started trying everything again and went back to bare minerals. that;s all i use is the foundation and i find it lasts all day and covers everything. I have some red spots especially after washing and this is the only make-up that covers it al and doesn't make me shiny as the day goes on. also very natural . people tell me i have nice skin and am lucky i don't have to wear foundation. what they don't know won't hurt them.:D

Aww man unfortunately the Ideal Balance didn't work out for me. I bought it since my skin was combination (it's a bit more normal now), but after using it I started getting large pimples that left behind scars on my cheeks.. in the past I had never broken on my cheeks! It was weird since it seemed to come out nice on my skin.

Currently using Revlon Age Defying with Botofirm. No clue LOL what Botofirm is. Going to finish this and then go to some type of bare minerals. I don't have alot of patience putting on make up, and from what read here it takes awhile to get used to putting on bare minerals. BTW I bought Coppertone Endless Summer gradual tan moisturizing lotion and a noooooooo....orange and itches. I was satisfied with Victoria's Secret but always looking for better.

I have used for years the Physician's Formula Le Velvet Film cream make-up and I love it because it's goes on so fast and covers without looking thick...well it's become impossible to find in the States except for at the PF website so I've been searching high and low for something that's as good and I believe I've found it...The New Complexion Compact foundation from Revlon. It's more expensive than PF but if you can't buy it anywhere....what good is cheap. PF has changed up their colors too so I don't know what to order anymore...they are saying sand beige is darker than beige when in the past when I bought it sand beige was too light and beige was just right so I haven't a clue which color to order anymore! There really isn't much difference from the Revlon that my face can tell anyway and I can go down to kmart or anywhere and just buy it off the shelf! I really am not real into buying online. I just like being able to grab a sponge and smear it on in about 30 seconds....haha!

Thanks for the reviews everybody! I'm always wanting that PERFECT complextion and it's frustrating when I can't get things to look right. I don't like makeup that is too heavy but want it to be able to fix things up at the same time. So far what has worked best for me was using Covergirl Aquasmooth with Mineral Basics powder over it (just a little bit of it!). I have the Loreal mineral makeup and I can't get it to look good on its own. It makes my skin look dry and feel that way too.. and it doesn't cover much but I can feel it on my face. When I tried Bare Minerals it seemed very sheer to me too. I am thinking about going to the actual Bare Minerals store I have at the mall here and asking them to show me how to do it and get the look I want. I will have to go browse the stores for the other recommended foundations and check them out too!

I tried the bare minerals last summer and while I found that it was sheer and felt light on my face, after about 3 months of using it, I didn't like that my skin felt dry. I just tried Estee Lauder's newest one, I believe it is called Lift Extreme. If you go to the department store, they will match your shade and give you a 10 day supply to try. I couldn't believe how wonderful my skin felt. It felt like satin! I couldn't stop touching it. The makeup felt light and not heavy. It also gave me the coverage I wanted. I have freckles and it toned them down nicely. It is a little more expensive than the other store brands, but "I'm worth it!" to quote L'Oreal. I believe it sells for $32.50 a bottle (or somewhere close to that). I don't wear makeup everyday so I'm not concerned about the price at the moment. I have tried Estee Lauder's bronzer powder and that is what I wear when I don't want to be bothered with foundation. The real test for me with the foundation will be this spring/summer when the humid weather hits. I hate anything that feels like the foundation is melting off your face and here is Louisiana, that happens quite alot. Hope this helps.

You need to use a better brush and even a different container. The Loreal packaging is useless. I first ordered mineral makeup from Mineral Basics and I got my brushes and some empty containers from them. You need a lid to 'swirl' in to get the powder evenly into the brush.

Yes you can return it. You can return any product you buy at the department store cosmetic counter as long as you have the original box and it is within 30 days of purchase. There is a "proof of purchase" sticker on the box and that is what you need to return it. If you have the receipt you can get a refund. That is why I tend to stay away from Drug stores and WalMart. If you buy it and don't like it you're stuck. While most of those brands are cheaper, by the time you find the shade and product you like, you could have gone and gotten the good stuff to begin with. Good Luck!

Oh really? I am always able to return things from Walmart.. they even took returns from me without a receipt! They are supposed to give store credit but when it is a low amount they just gave me cash. Most main drugstores (CVS, Eckerds, Walgreens) allow returns too.. but I'm sure smaller ones don't. Unfortunately I bought that Loreal mineral makeup a while ago and and don't have the receipt. I got it at the grocery store.. they accept returns BUT with the receipt!
I actually do have to pour it out to use it.. I hate the brush it came with. I have my own brush that works so much better. Mineral Basics seems to work better for me with the same brush so I think the Loreal just might not be right for me. I really hate that built in brush and the container it came in though! So tricky to use and tends to make a mess! The brush kind of pokes at the skin around my eyes too!

Having A.D.D I get bored easily and love trying out new things.:p BUT one that I've been stuck on for the past six months is the Bare Escentuals line. Living in South Florida and humidity being an issue I don't want to feel anything cakey or oily on my face. I find that their line gives enough coverage w/ VERY little application; and works well on my combination/oily skin.

My favorite foundation by far is Revlon, Skinlights, Instant Skin Brightener in the tube. This gives your skin the most incredible glow, as it has light reflectors in the formula and actually de-emphasis lines. It is absolutely wonderful. I follow this with Glo-Mineral, Mineral Foundation. I actually prefer the Glo-Minerals in the compact and I like to apply it with a make-up sponge. First I apply the skinlights, then I press the glo-mineral foundation powder on with the make-up sponge. pat and press. I do not swipe the sponge on my face, as pressing and patting is the recommended way the apply this mineral foundation. This allows the Skinlights to set perfectly and my skin looks so naturally flawless with a very healthy glow. I get compliments all the time from complete strangers. You can get the Skinlights (Revlon) most anywhere, drugstores, Walmart, for about $12.00. The Glo-Minerals foundation is pricier about $32.00. Beauty Brands carries Glo-Minerals, you could also try Ulta. The glo-minerals lasts forever, so it is a good investment. Both of these products have an SPF 15.
I used to work for Estee Lauder and this is the best combination of foundations I have used.
