Three weeks ago I had a "brain bleed" - this is not a stroke, nor an anuerism, but is in that family of attacks. I could not walk nor move my left side and since I was at home, I lay on the floor, never losing consienceness but vomiting until I had dry heaves. Lasted two hours before my husband came home and found me. I was never in pain and I still am not.
I suffered no damage and had a five day stay in hospital. MRI showed that a vessel had burst, bled, and healed itself.Nothing else showed danger lurking.
I was very lucky. I am doing fine after three weeks, do anything I want to do, do exercises, and just about anything. I want to go back to work
(office) as soon as I can but it will be a couple of weeks at least. Has anyone suffered anything like this? My main concern is that the left part of my head from the crown down over my nose and veering off to the left is numb. So is my left hand. I use the hand for everything - I am left handed
but I am concerned that the numbness will not go away. Others have said it will over time. Anyone have any thing to tell me along these lines?
Neydine.

Hi... I'm sorry to hear about your brain bleed. Just out of curiousity, did they give any indication as to what may have caused this to occur? Hypertension? Diabetes or any other risk factors?
You are very lucky and thank God you had a favorable MRI.
I have read quite a bit on the subject and a lot of people, through physical therapy and good nutrition have reported improvement with their post
bleed symptoms.
Good luck..... and I hope you feel better.
DAVID :)

DAVID :) I was not carrying high blood pressure but it rose considerably with the brain bleed. I am Type 2 Diabetic and do not take the best of care. I take 3 oral meds a day and averaged about 145 blood sugar readings each 90 days as I have blood drawn then. Surgeon says he cannot tell for certain but it is probably the Diabetes that caused it. I have another MRI in March. In the interim I am doing quite well and hope to go back to work in 2-3 weeks. I am getting stronger daily but am concerned with the numbness in my left hand (I'm a lefty too) but have no problem using it.
Left side of face and head is numb also. It causes no problems and I am nearly back to normal. Only I am uncomfortable with the numbness. Do you know anything about that part? Thank you so much for your answer, I do appreciate it. Neydine
