View Full Version : Difficulty expelling bowel matter

Since I gave birth 11 years ago (and over the last year or so it's gotten alot worse) I've hand a hard time expelling BM. Even the soft stool seems to get stuck and (ok, this is gross and embarrassing but here goes) I can feel it bulging into my vaginal wall. I have to help it along by either putting my finger into my vagina and pushing down, or pushing on the area between my anus and vagina. I've never been a daily pooper but now it seems that, because the material isn't "knocking on my sphincter door", I don't feel the need to go until I'm so full that it hurts.

Could this have anything to do with the way I was "sewn up" after giving birth? Is this something that can be surgically corrected? I tried googling my symptoms and all I get are constipation pages.

Thanks in advance.

try searching for rectocele repair. I think this is what you will be looking for. Best of luck!
