So I'm not sure if I should feel a little discouraged. I had an ultrasound yesterday (cd10) showing that I only have one mature follicle. They had me go back this morning to make sure that it wasn't a cyst. It is a follicle at 22mm. I am a little sad that I only have one. Last cycle I had 4. My RE also said that my lining isn't thick enough yet so she doesn't want me to do a trigger shot. I just don't feel too optimistic about this IUI cycle. Does anyone know if it's possible for the follicle to get too big? or is bigger the better? Hopefully I see a surge soon so we can do and IUI. I did OPK yesterday and today and still no positive surge.I see a faint line but not the same color as test line. Sorry for rambling!!!

Hi Crystal,
I wouldn't get too discouraged. I've been told anything over 18 and under 30 is good so you still have plenty of room if it grows more before your lining catches up. My first IUI I had only 1 follie too and was disapointed but as many women on this bb told me - it only takes one! For me it didn't take, but I have heard stories now of many who only had one follie and it worked. And it sounds like you are going to have a really good size follie too so that is even better. Good luck and keep us posted about your next u/s.

I agree with Lori. I have heard of many women going through IUI cycles with only one mature follicle. Also, yours is pretty big, so that sounds promising. Try to keep your chin up hon. I think you're doing just fine. I hope it works for you :D :D

Hi Crystal,
I also agree with the Lori and Holly :) Sometimes we think the more the better but in the case the bigger the better,no more than 30 is great. Your follie is a great size and I think your Re is doing the right thing to let your lining thicken. I had that same issue and some-one on the board said something about vaginal suppositories to thicken my lining so I asked my RE about it and they put me on it. Maybe you can discuss this with yours. I still had a BFN but I think I may have other issues undx as of yet. But it may work for you!!! Best of luck to you and remember to keep us posted!!!!

I was in your situation 10 years ago (in the dark ages! LOL). I have a 9.5 year old daughter to show for it, too! Anything is possible!
Hang in there--all of you.

I think that the thickness of the lining is more important than the # of follies like the girls said. I did my first IUI last month and had 16 follies but my lining wasn't that thick so I had a BFN. This month we waited longer for my lining to thicken and I used a lower dosage pf gonal-f (so that I wouldn't grow so quickly) and only had 4 follies. The RE must agree that the lining is more important than the #. I'm still in my 2ww but good luck.:)
