Hey Ladies,

New to this board! This board seems really supportive :)
Just wanted to introduce myself...This time last year, I was on the pregnancy board. I have an 11 month old daughter. My dh and I working on baby #2. I have never charted or taken my temp before, but may start to once I learn how!
Anyway, we started TTC again at the end of August. I had an early miscarriage (chemical pregnancy perhaps?) mid December. Maybe you ladies can help me with this one...I am stumped
So, we pretty much bd every other day each month just to make sure we catch the egg at the right time. In November, af came on the 23rd (so about a 26-27 day cycle that month) This is fairly normal for me. Just out of curiosity, I took a test on December 13 (about 9 days before af would start) Thinking this was too early to register anything if I was pregnant...well, I was shocked to get a positive result. I tested again the next day, then the next still positive! Then, my lower back began to ache. And the cramping was achy and painful. On 12-16, I started to lightly spot. Each day, it got darker and yuckier looking. I then passed something that looked like (I can even describe it?!) Anyway, my bleeding finally ended on the 24th. I felt like I was getting back to normal. The OB nurse told me to come in 2 weeks (from the time the bleeding started, I have yet to do this-my plan is next week to go in to the dr.) Anyway, so my dh and I bd a few times after I stopped bleeding (12-26, 12-27, 12-28). I took another pregnancy test yesterday as the nurse recommended I do...so last night I tested and it was positive????? BOth lines were dark. I am stumped. Are my hormones so screwed up that I still have the Hcg in my urine? Was I further along in my pregnancy than I thought? My friend said that maybe I was pregnant with twins and lost one?

Well, I look forward to getting to know everyone...AND supporting one another!
Thanks for listening and happy new year :

Hi Shphiesmommy,

Welcome :-)

Its nice to see you here on these boards. I find it very supportive and enjoy it! My dh and I have been trying for about 4 months. I find it much harder than I thought. I am new at this so I dont always have much of the greatest information, but I am always here for support.

I am learning to chart also. This is my first month charting also. HOpefully I wont need to do it for long:) I am hoping to see some pattern.

Your situation sounds interesting. You are still shoing a positive result even right now?? But you aren't really sure if you had a miscarrage right?? You just THINK you did?? Sorry for the questions. Maybe you didnt' even have a m/c. Or if you did, maybe you did just loose one baby. Gosh....sorry I am not much help. But I really do hope you are able to see your dr. and get better information. I look forward to seeing you back on the boards to see how you are doing :-)

Once again....welcome and you WILL find lots of great support here. The girls are great:wave:

 Sophiesmomma,
Welcome! I don't have much to offer for advice except if you did miscarry, I am truely sorry :( Even if its one of twins, it would still break my heart. I wish you the best of luck at the doc. I hope she has good news for you.

Hi Sara and krzzygirl21,

Thanks for the warm welcomes :)
Maybe I just think I had a miscarriage..that could be true. Some women have a period even when they are in fact pregnant?

Take care ladies and happy new year!!!

Hi Sophie,

love the name! that is my baby girls' if you didn't know :)
Thanks for the welcome!

I went to immediate care yesterday to see what they could do for me--I tested positive on the urine test (the dr. said you are pregnant--I said I don't think so....) then was sent to the hospital for a blood test and it was to be sent to my OB today. I called the office to come in today, but the nurse told me to get another blood test tomorrow, so the hcg levels can be compared. I would have liked to get an exam to make sure all the tissue is gone--if I truly did have a miscarriage..I would just like to know how long before af comes back, I am anxious to start ttc again!!!!!

Don't you just hate waiting. Did they even tell you what your levels were. I would just be curious to know if they were very high. Well I guess you will just have to wait until tomarrow and see what they tell you. Good Luck!! Keep us posted!!

Hi Sophie,

I do wonder what the levels were at yesterday..I should have asked when I called today. I just want this to be over so that we can ttc again! I still wonder how far along I was too..that is a mystery to me.

Take care,

Rachel

Are you going back today to get your levels checked? Will you be able to find out what they were yesterday when you go in? Good luck!!!

I went in today for my second blood test. My hormone level was 180 on 1/1 and 186 today. Dr. wants me to come in on 1/10 for an exam and rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Aren't those painful? I have no cramping now.
So, I don't think I should ttc yet....

lots of baby dust to you all!!
take care,
Rachel

hi sophiesmomma, welcome to the boards and sorry you have been through so much recently.

Those levels do indicate something going on hey? They are not as high as they should be for a regular pg but not dropping as you would expect with m/c. I thought I would tell you though, i had an ectopic back in March 06 and my hcg level was at 15000 when I found out (at 8 weeks) as ectopics tend to increase at a steady rate just not quite as fast as uterine pg, so your level sounds low for that as well.

Just in case; I did not have any pain at all not even cramping which caused the problem with diagnosis. If you are being told it is a possible ectopic but not being examined for another 6 days then please be very aware of your body, if you get any pain at all in your shoulder then go straight to hospital. If there is even the smallest chance this is an ectopic you cannot wait around and must be seen. I do not say this to scare you I promise but ectopic pregnancy still kills women through misdiagnosis and delays and we should all be more aware of it.

I wish you all the best and hope you can move on soon to TTC again xxx

HI Eurokelly,

Thanks for the info and advice. I do wonder why the levels did not drop when tested again and rather raised very slightly? hmmm.....

Thanks again and take care,
Rachel
